Ajay Devgn talks about the film’s superb box office run; says the public can’t be served ‘bullshit’

Ajay Devgn, Tabou, Shriya Saran, Akshaye Khanna featured Drishyam 2 arrived at the cinema on Friday. After a long time, a Bollywood movie managed to have box office success. Even Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha flopped at the box office but Drishyam 2 managed to do well. In an interview with Variety, Ajay Devgn called the film “invigorating” and said three to four Drishyam films will be needed to reignite the box office slump Bollywood has been facing. He also said that it is not easy to make entertaining movies, however, the audience cannot be served anything. “Audiences have become very smart, so you can’t just give them bullshit. Even when you’re talking about entertainment in commercial cinema, you have to give them something new,” he said. Meanwhile, the box office trend indicates that Drishyam 2 will soon cross the Rs 100 crore mark. It had a great opening weekend and even on the first Monday the film did well. Early trends indicate that Drishyam 2 on Monday made around Rs 11 crore. Final figures are yet to come. Kangana Ranaut commented on the same and said that it was Tabu who carried the film on his shoulders.
