Chahatt Khanna is one of the few celebrities to have publicly denounced Urfi Javed’s bizarre and risque fashion outings. Although she has also been at odds with Urfi for quite some time, Chahatt has now shared her reaction to Chetan Bhagat and Urfi’s war of words. The actress said she’s glad people have finally started to speak out against it, while referencing Chetan calling Urfi a distraction for young people.
In his recent interaction with Instant Bollywood, Chahatt addressed what Chetan said about Urfi at a recent literature festival. She said she was happy to see someone called out Urfi for her risque fashion calling her a distraction. She also added that Chetan approached the issue in a very gentle and respectful manner since Urfi exaggerated things on a different level. She also added that Chetan calling Urfi a distraction is a compliment to her in a way and she didn’t find anything wrong with the author’s statement.
“Chetan Bhagat is a very well known and respected person. I’m glad that people have started talking about it and speaking out against it. I really don’t know but I had only read one line that she (Urfi ) is a distraction for young people. It was said using very good choice of words and she did much more important things than what was said. In a way, she was complimented in a way very sweet since girls want to be distractions. And I don’t think anything bad was said about that,” Chahatt said.
Meanwhile, Urfi took Chetan’s comment about her fashion very personally. She recently sued him, all guns blazing, called him a pervert, and even shared a series of his conversations that went viral a few years ago during the #MeToo campaign. She added that men like Bhagat only blame women and said there was no need to drag her into the conversation and comment on the type of clothes she chooses to wear.
Later, Chetan defended himself and said he was being questioned unnecessarily for what he did not say. He also denied viral WhatsApp chats and also clarified that he did not criticize anyone in his statement. He said his comments were taken out of context and exaggerated.
