At IFFI (International Film Festival of India) Goa 2022, head of the jury and Israeli director Nadav Lapid criticized Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files as they called it a “vulgar propaganda” film. In no time, their statement went viral on the internet. Actor Anupam Kher, who played a key role in the film, took to his Twitter reacting to the remarks. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also took to his Twitter to criticize Nadav Lapid.
IFFI’s Nadav Lapid video received many mixed reactions on social media platforms. Anupam tweeted saying, “No matter how small the lie, it’s still small compared to the truth (sic).” However, he didn’t mention Lapid’s name in his tweet.

Actor Darshan Kumar was shocked by these remarks. In an interview with ETimes, the actor said everyone has their own opinion on anything and how they see it. He added saying that there is no denying the fact that the film portrayed the real plight of the Kashmiri Pandit community. He called the film a reality. The Kashmir Files is trending on the Entertainment news.
The Kashmir Files was one of the highest grossing films of the year based on the life of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 during the Kahsmir uprising. The story of the film was about the Kashmir Genocide of the Kashmiri Pandit community. The film was financed by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri and featured Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Bhasha Sumbali and more in key roles.
