Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra have worked together in a number of films including Andaaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Aitraaz. They had shown intense chemistry with each other on the big screen and audiences loved it too. But after 2005, Akshay stopped working with Priyanka and the reason was none other than Khiladi Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, filmmaker Suneel Darshan has revealed.

In the 2005 film Barsaat, Akshay was originally cast as the lead opposite Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu. He had even filmed for a romantic and sensual song with Priyanka but soon he withdrew from the film. Akshay was later replaced by Bobby Deol in the film. The filmmaker said it was because of Twinkle’s reservations with Priyanka that Akshay left the film.

Suneel said Akshay and Priyanka make a great pair with similar personality traits. They had amazing chemistry and the song was beautiful too without vulgarity, without obscenity but very sensual. But when Priyanka went on a world tour and came back, things changed drastically. The filmmaker later learned that Twinkle objected to Akshay and Priyanka working together.

“By then I had also become aware of the other issues that had arisen between him and his wife. She had issues with Priyanka, I was told that I thought the profession had its own risks. Sometimes closeness, sometimes the individual’s own lifestyles, all of those things get in the way and the media inflates them disproportionately, not realizing the loss a filmmaker might suffer because of it,” Suneel said. in Bollywood Hungary.

Since then, Akshay and Priyanka have not appeared together in a movie. They became successful actors and gained immense fame separately. While Akshay married Twinkle and has two children Aarav and Nitara, Priyanka married Nick Jonas and welcomed their baby girl Malti Marie.
