Chup is undoubtedly a truly entertaining watch from start to finish. There are a lot of GORY Scenes, so some of you may have to watch these tricky kills through your fingers.

The thriller has an original and fascinating premise. The pattern takes time to settle, but the rhythm is always smooth in the 1st half. Chup maintains balance between funny, dark and romantic elements.

The background score really works to add tension to scenes. Gaya Gaya Gaya was such a sweet track added to the mix!

The 2nd half is interesting, even if there are times when things go a bit bit absurd and practical. The end is the chink in the armor here feels abrupt and slightly confusing.

Dulquer-Salmaan gives an understated, layered performance, but somewhere it lacks the sinister edge its character craves. However, after Sita Ramamthis film is a must for his fans, as the role itself is so different.

Shreya Dhanwarthy brings into play this seriousness and this idealism. sunny deol has a meaty role but Dulquer overshadows it in Chup though. (signal Darr déjà vu) Pooja Bhatt has a very charismatic screen appearance!

Globally, Chup evokes a very melancholy, nostalgic and darkly beautiful mood. It’s not exactly a nail-biter at the edge of the seat (in fact, it feels pretentious in some bits) but it maintains an immersive atmosphere nonetheless.

Hit or miss:

A must see once at the cinema! Moreover, it is national cinema day tomorrow, so tickets are selling like hot cakes for a single Rs 75. Reserve yours ASAP!
